Air travel: how did we get to this point?


With one of the busiest travel periods of the year now behind us, there is still more to come as the holidays are just beginning. There is no doubt this stresses out even the most even-keeled among us. Let's face it, traveling, especially by air, can be downright unpleasant even at the slowest of times. Throw in the hustle and bustle of the holidays and its no wonder so many actually dread this time of year rather than embracing it.

So what went wrong? How did we get from a time when air travel was an "event" that people even dressed up for to a dreaded task that people want to avoid? I found a great article that breaks down what air travel once was and what it is now. Will we ever get back to that "golden era" of flying? Probably not. But it is an interesting read nonetheless.

Quintessential European Christmas Market Scene

With this week being the start of the hectic holiday travel season, we at Boston Chauffeur are busy behind the scenes making sure our valued clients get to their destinations safely and on-time. But I do have a little time to daydream here and there about holiday travel. While most of my family and friends are local and I won't have to travel more than a few miles to be with them, one of my dreams is to one day visit some of the many Christmas markets around the world, particularly those in Europe.
